I purchased a RKP rod at the bamboo bash last weekend fron a rod maker from Michigan. His name is Richard Perry and it is a very nice looking rod and I was able to fish it Tuesday and also caught some nice browns on it. This bamboo rod is sweet! The taper of the rod is the makers own taper and it is a 7 ft. 6 wt. rod.The rod is a fast action rod with alot of back bone. The rod is a modification of his #3 taper which he calls it #3C. A very strong, fast, and noticeably lighter rod than the conventional #3. He also makes this same rod in a 5 wt. If you are looking for a faster action bamboo rod this would be one to look at. Richard is a very helpful man and will try to answer anything he can for you. So check his site out and talk to him he makes a nice rod to fish with.
